How website earnings are estimated
Display ad income comes down to one number: RPM, the revenue you earn for every 1,000 pageviews. Multiply your monthly pageviews by your RPM and divide by 1,000, and you have your monthly ad income. The hard part is knowing what RPM to expect.
RPM depends mostly on three things. Your niche decides which advertisers want your audience: finance and business readers are worth far more than meme or gaming traffic. Your visitors' location matters just as much, because advertisers pay several times more to reach readers in the United States than in India or Southeast Asia. And your ad network decides how much competition there is for every ad slot: premium managed networks such as Mediavine and Raptive typically earn noticeably more than AdSense for the same traffic.
Our tools combine all three, add the seasonal swing that makes January the weakest month and December the strongest, and show the result as a realistic range. Read the methodology to see every assumption.
